I realized that there is only so much dessert my husband and I can have (what I really mean is- only so much we SHOULD have), but I wasn't ready to stop baking or tone it down. If anything, I wanted to explore it even more! Also adding to that, I discovered that I am not as passionate about writing assembly manuals for aircraft production at Bombardier as I thought I would be. Hence, I have now decided to launch my own in-home Filza's Cakery. Do drop by and say hello on the Facebook page!
The whole cake world is new to me still, but it has been a great journey so far and I have been loving it (not the expenses though, they're a killer!) I took the first two Wilton classes at my local Michaels last year while I was job hunting after graduation, and even though I hardly use my buttercream and royal icing piping skills that I learned there because I like the fondant and ganache route more, those classes along with the CakeCentral community opened a whole new world for me to explore!
School and work have been taking a lot of time lately, but with the winter break here, I am going to try putting a little life back into this blog by sharing a few recipes here. Keep a look out for them over the next few weeks!
For now, here's a picture of these mouth-watering MnM and white chocolate chip cookies I made last month for my niece.
