Hello there again!

First off, happy new year! Hope you all had a wonderful 2014, and looking forward to a great 2015. I haven't gotten a chance to post anything here for quite a while, got quite busy with work, school, and guess what- baking! What started off as a hobby to kill time when I didn't have a job has now led to me making some great looking cakes (if I do say so myself :P)! But let's be honest here, as much fun as mixing up some batter and smelling it being baked in the oven is, there is much more work that goes into it, especially when it comes to decorating cakes.

I realized that there is only so much dessert my husband and I can have (what I really mean is- only so much we SHOULD have), but I wasn't ready to stop baking or tone it down. If anything, I wanted to explore it even more! Continue Reading

Cupcakes - My new canvas

I have been trying out lots of new desserts lately (I haven't blogged about them because I am usually busy eating it right after I make it, but I shall soon), and it's a tough job. I mean there are just SO SO many desserts out there, then to find the few ones that seem like less work and more fun to make, plus with ingredients already on hand because I usually get lazy about doing groceries, and also things that do not require a mixer since I haven't gotten one yet. So you get the idea, I do have to filter out quite a bunch of them before actually proceeding to make anything.

And guess what I recently discovered? Cupcakes! I have no idea how I had been missing out on them all my life, because I never made one. Never, not even as a kid decorating it! So the other day when I was looking for something to make, I thought hey, I have never made cupcakes before so why not. And it turned out really fun! I wonder why I didn't think of it before. The Domestic Rebel

Lately I have been on a craze of trying out new food, especially dessert. The main reason for it is that I have a lot of time on my hands after school ended, but regardless, I have looked up some pretty cool recipes online for this search.

I just wanted to share this super amazing dessert website that I came across that has gotten me hooked and makes me want to try literally everything in there- The Domestic Rebel. Everything in this site is unique, looks amazingly yummy, and makes me just want to make it right there and then! Most of the recipes are actually quite easy to make as well and do not require a lot of effort. Continue Reading

Anyone who knows me will totally understand why my first post in the food section has to be about Cafe Demetres. There's just one word for it- awesome! So far, THE best dessert cafe I have ever been to. And yes, I have been to quite a few.

They have a huge variety of crepes and Belgian waffles served with various toppings and ice-cream of your choice. You can easily ask the server to swap any topping or flavor from the dessert without any hassle. Best part of all? The size is huge, and fills up the dessert craving completely..makes every penny worth it! Might be a good idea to skip dinner if you are a small portion eater.

Its not just their crepes and waffles..everything there is just amazingly delicious! My husband, being a chocolate lover, fell in love with their Brownie Points which we recently discovered. Their sundaes are served in a huge glass, and in such a manner that even plain vanilla ice-cream looks like a gourmet dessert! Continue Reading
